A Ring, Flowers, Plan and Proposal

$

What you need for a marriage proposal are a ring, flowers, a proposal and life plan. Marriage is not about how well you plan the proposal or the glitz and glamor of the wedding. It is a life commitment which requires the two parties to perform their respective responsibilities. Of course the nice things you do or say from time to time would keep the flame going stronger.

A well-planned proposal is a nice little surprise that you could give your spouse-to-be. Get your team together to brainstorm creative ideas, something that is personal, romantic and memorable. Don't forget to hire a good photographer/ videographer to capture all the precious moments.

A Romantic Dinner Proposal video by Lovebirds Video. There was a surprise fireworks display followed by the appearance of a bunch of heart-shape helium balloons with the words "Will you marry me" in front of her. The balloons were released from the ground floor and flew to the first floor where she was standing. Location: Maison Française [French House] KL.

A proposal in the Sky can done at locations with a sky view (Check out the venues here) or conveniently at your condo, if it has a sky deck.

Prop tip: How to place balloons inside a big balloon. This can be accomplished by first inflating a large balloon. Using a small stick, push a second, smaller balloon inside the larger one and then inflate the smaller balloon while it is inside the larger one. You can then tie up the second balloon, leaving the smaller one inside the large balloon. This can be repeated with multiple small balloons. Watch video of how to make stuffed balloon here.

Wedding Banquet at Sime Darby Convention Centre

For a list of other wedding venue options, pop in here.

There are many other wedding banquet options other than the usual restaurants and hotels. One of them is a convention centre. The Sime Darby Convention Centre (SDCC) located at Bukit Kiara, KL offers hotel standard service, food (halal) and ambiance with a more attractive price. Most wait staffs are efficient and courteous. No fuss with parking at all as the space is huge with ample parking lots free of charge. You have a wide, pillar-less grand ballroom. There is a roof garden and 2 suites up there.

The Grand Ballroom comprises a column-free area of 19,000 square feet to accommodate 2,600 guests. If necessary, the Ballroom may be divided into three smaller function rooms that can accommodate up 800 guests each. If you want a venue away from the crazy KL traffic, this is definitely the place.

my sister got married here recently and we found the staff here to be very friendly and professional. She had her Akad Nikah upstairs and while everyone was waiting, we realised there was nothing to drink! So I informed one of the waiters who quickly helped bring up bottles and bottles of mineral water for all the guests. Later for the sit down lunch, the wait staff were also efficient and courteous.

Attended a wedding dinner at Sime Darby Convention Center last weekend. My first impression: this place has ample parking. The moment i set foot into the grand ballroom, my first thought was that the design is stunning with a touch of oriental - i really like the yellow and orange umbrella on the ceiling. The ballroom is spacious with no pillars. So, all the guests can have a good look of the couple march-in and other event on the stage. The environment and ambiance are definitely of hotel standard. Further, this place serves halal Chinese food, so it's a great option for couples who intend to invite Muslim guests.
Well, the only down side of this place was the quality of the waiters. From what i observed, some of them acted prompt and efficient. They took the initiative to ask the guests whether they need a refill of wine. But some of them just stood there, ignoring the empty tea cups that are 'dying' to be refilled. One waiter accidentally drop the wine glass and the lady's blouse was soaked in wine. Instead of grabbing a napkin and apologized, he just stood there and looked stun. It was the supervisor who saves the day. When the supervisor wasn't looking, he actually turned and made stupid faces to another waiter. He did not look sorry at all.
Well, my final verdict, for brides-to-be who want to be away from the crazy kl traffic, this is definitely the place.

Everything same as hotel. Food is good. Package is good. They even have a roof garden and 2 suites up there which is included in the package. The only deciding factor is the 'convention center' vs 'hotel'.

You cannot go wrong the romantic gazebo/ chuppah/ teepee at your wedding. They can be the ceremony altar, gazebo where the bride and groom are seated to get blessings from everyone in a religious wedding and absolutely stunning decoration or photobooth backdrop.

Sunflowers are used in the wedding decoration to create a sunny and joyous celebration. To complete the beach-themed wedding, flowers shaped using seashells, various type of seashells, candle holders with wave design are put together as part of the table decor. There are also frosted pebbles to create the effect of water droplets on the table runner. The main star is of course the green sheer fabric gazebo draped with sunflowers to match the garden.

Recently opened in May 2016, the new and luxurious St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, part of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts chain, with a view of the Lake Gardens KL, is one of those exceptionally high end hotels which offers butler service.  The hotel's pillarless Grand Ballroom is also one-of-a-kind; stone-paneled walls, it has more crystals than any other ballroom in the world, thanks to Austrian crystal chandeliers and Viennese crystal accents. There is a 270° LED digital screen, which can be used as a custom backdrop or for a live stream of the happenings in the ballroom.

For weddings, St. Regis has special lounge and dressing room in The Salon, for wardrobe changes and prep before entering the ballroom. There is a super-sized lift that can transport cars and other big items into the ballroom. The smaller ballroom, The Astor Room offers a space for more intimate weddings of up to 360 guests.

The wedding menu options include Chinese, Western, and Malay cuisines, fully customizable to the special couple’s desires. Trained chef de patisserie is on hand to create bespoke wedding cakes.
The list of bespoke wedding arrangements include:
  • Wedding Butler Service for the bride and groom on their special day.
  • Digital signage in public areas personalized to the wedding.
  • Personalized table arrangements and settings via The Gallery’s vast collection of showplates, glassware, and flatware.
  • A Selection of linens and napery to align with the wedding’s color theme.
Some of the reviews of St Regis Weddings: The Astor Room is beautiful even with simple decoration which comes with Classic and lovely details. The Chinese fusion menu is superb and beautifully presented. The western 4 course dinner was adequate and well plated but the Angus steak was a little too soft. Professional Staffs and team who attended all the customer's request even a very last minute one. Parking is ample and location is close to the Sentral station making it very convenient for travellers. The front office staff were polite and helpful.

Checked into the hotel to attend a wedding banquet at their Astor hall. Their deluxe room have picture windows with a view. I was fortunate enough to watch an amazing sunset that evening from the window in our room. Our western 4 course dinner was adequate and well plated but I found my Angus steak was a little too soft for a steak. Parking is ample and location is close to the central station making it very convenient for travellers. The front office staff were polite and helpful. The room came with butler service.

    Love Birds Trail Petaling Street

Petaling Street is a popular tourist destination because of the various merchandise and food options this flea market offers. My ex-colleague from the Netherlands once told me he could get a reasonably priced  suit with acceptable quality from a local tailor here. I visited Petaling Street mostly for food; the Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee, Air Mata Kucing, Ikan Panggang (grilled fish) Portugis (junction of Jalan Petaling and Jalan Hang Lekir). New cafes/ coffee places are mushrooming this area in recent years due to the popular trend of sipping a cuppa coffee in a comfortable air-conditioned nicely decorated shop which is something I truly enjoy as well.

Let's track the footprints of these two love birds as they trail the famous Jalan Petaling stopping for a drink of the absolutely refreshing air mata kucing (Dried Longan drink) on a hot day in KL, for blessing and protection at the Guan Di Temple, and Cafe etc. where they can grab some lunch and coffee as their journey is captured by a journalistic photographer.

From Jalan Petaling, Jalan Hang Lekir to Jalan Tun HS Lee where the Guan Di Temple and Cafe etc. are and finally back to Jalan Petaling to buy some yummy egg tarts.

A New Chapter in Life begins at the Passion Road

For more wedding options, their package prices, review and details, follow the link here.

I would describe it as a modern private wedding venue. Passion Road offers wedding packages with Asian or Western menu. The food received very good comments, taste wise. Everyone loves the delicious mushroom soup, assam laksa and brownies. However the set menu food portion may be too small and the dishes get cold. I can already imagine my uncle saying "Aiya, not used to gwai lou food, have to go supper later." If your relatives are comfortable with western or fusion food, this will be a perfect choice.

Alternatively go for the buffet where there will be plenty of food. The only problem is your guests may have to queue up for a long time if the group is big. With everyone walking around, it can be a little messy. Try not to max out the space. I once attended a garden wedding, the tables were set up on a wet grass compound after an earlier heavy downpour. It was definitely challenging for the ladies who walked in their lovely stilettos.

The ambiance of this venue when lighted up at night will blow you away. Just by looking at the photos, I could already feel the excitement and love being emitted in the air. Very pleasant environment no question. The guests will be surrounded by nature, they can see trees and greens and beautiful ornaments all over. Don't forget about the cooling system, have sufficient coolers/ fans to ensure a comfortable celebration that will be remembered for a long long time. On the flip side, the PIC is hard to contact. Tables are scattered in different sections of the restaurant and not every guest could have a good view. There is no elevated stage.

My first time coming to passion for friends wedding. The decor is pretty but not very suitable for occasion as the hot weather. Food is fair not too bad.

    Sep 2016
Lots of green and trees surrounding the restaurant. Impressive wedding theme deco. Simple but yet elegant. Table or seating arrangements might be in different direction to max the space. Guests may not get a good view of the couple on stage. Food is average (not impressive). Weather is warm because it is an outdoor dining concept. There are fans and coolers around, but it is still warm/ sweaty hot especially after some beers/ wine.

The Passion Road is situated in city centre of Kuala Lumpur just a mere 15 mins from the KLCC. It is hidden in a back alley of the main road which provides the serene and the quietness of the buzzing traffic. The first impression when you set foot in the entrance is you are at your friend’s wedding. The decorations and the set ups are incline towards a wedding themed events. It is an open air concept with lots of trees and branches and flowers. This restaurant fits for romantic couple celebrating their anniversaries, proposals and weddings. the seating arrangements does feel at little cramped. But for those who likes romance..this is the place to go.

We had our wedding dinner reception a year ago in Passion Road and was very happy with the food. While food tasting experience wasnt very positive, after some face to face discussion with Vinz I think their kitchen crew got it right. Laksa was simple awesome. Another commendable matter was how our concern on mosquito was handled. Fogging was done pretty thoroughly lol. Generally we are happy to recommend this laidback venue to anyone who prefers a more casual and homely environment for a wedding =)

    Sep 2013
Gosh, my experience with Passion Road was so bad! Our wedding planner said she never worked with anyone THAT bad. The guy Vinz never calls back and will not help you to do anything. They just want you money! Do yourself a favor and don't use them!

Passion Road was indeed beautiful but HOT. However the concept was brilliant. Instead of typical Asian-style of sit-down-and-wait-for-food-to-be served for the entire night, people are FREE to get rowdy, i.e. hovering around meeting other people, roaring with laughter, dancing to the music and eating heartily. Wall partition and pillars - blocking the view.

White drapes, ceiling ball lights and mirrors helped to enhance the ambiance. No stage. Pork-free. Asian buffet menu would generally be loaded with really spicy dishes. There were positive feedbacks on assam laksa and brownies from some of our guests while roast lamb recived mixed reception with some commenting that it was awesome, some mentioning that it was not fresh. Two-line buffet queue for a crowd of 250 pax would take anything more than 30 minutes or even up to an hour. Otherwise, while table d'hote may save the irritation of human traffic jam, it may not be great option to ensure that the food served would be optimally warm, especially dishes that would be served at later times. Do take note that food tasting is not complimentary service but 50% discount is entitled for clients.

Ambience ia good but the mosquitoes spoil the environment. I was here for friends wedding. Food, ambience, decor, all ok, but the ventilation is quite poor. Maybe better if they install mist fans.

Evelyn and her team from Moments can be the best decision of your wedding. They are very understanding when it comes to couple's budget and requirements, accommodating and willing to work with you to achieve the desired results even if it requires extra effort. If you are looking for a wedding planner, try checking them out. I fell in love in their ideas to make the wedding event more interactive and fun. The styling is very nice, modern, the colors and arrangement blend in together so well. Very creative thematic setup as well.

The classic red flanked with dainty blue Chinoiserie elements best defines the pre-conceived notion of ‘oriental’. The couple wanted to bring in a little twist to the wedding and being inspired by their background as both pharmacists, Moments created the concept of a Chinese Medicinal Hall, otherwise known as ‘Yao Cai Dian’ (药材店) in Mandarin.

The 12 feet spread featured tit-bits from the past like preserved plum candies, white rabbit sweets, peanut brittles, hot pepper cookies, haw flakes and ‘Mo Fa Go’, served alongside an eye-candy of precious antique treasures and vintage collectibles. Guests can pick out their favourite nibbles, reminiscing their childhood with each bite.

NEO Tamarind is semi-open air with dining sections divided into air-conditioned glass rooms and alfresco. Quietly elegant, it sits on a hill like a lovers' nest hidden by green foliage. The interior, rustic-luxe and dramatic, atmospheric enough to offer one the illusion of being out-of-town. Hypnotic liquid walls, a huge chandelier and the galactic bar all fashioned by the effects of water, fire, sounds and light give NEO Tamarind its high style as a 'neo-rotic' dining destination.

It is a restaurant with character and great food! The ambiance, truly beautiful. You will be welcomed by decorated walkways that make you feel relaxed just like a spa environment. The wooden path over a pond leading up to the entrance of the restaurant is pretty impressive. Your guests will be amazed by the details and effort they put in beautifying the venue. Such a stylish venue with strong character.

Reviews about Neo Tamarind wedding: Friea was very helpful from the beginning, replying to our constant messages and helping us to plan. The managers, Shah and Didi were very nice to make sure everything wemt well. Chef Sombat Kokasemkul was brilliant. Our guest enjoyed the food so much, especially the lasagna and garlic rice! Beautiful place that comes with a hefty price tag. Very yummy food for those who love Thai, Indonesian, Western fusion food but the elders with less adventurous taste buds may not be very pleased.

When I looked at the menu, I knew it was enough to just tickle to tummy because Neo Tamarind is a high end place which serves Thai & Indonesian food at the portion of a western cuisine. Malaysians eat A LOT. Because there will be lots of elders, they wouldn’t be happy with the food.

So much in love with the simple classic setting in NEO Tamarind.

The wedding dinner was held at Neo Tamarind, a modern Thai cuisine restaurant. It was my first time there so I was really excited about it! The decor on our way to the restaurant was really pretty. Its like walking in for a spa session! From the round paper tanglungs leading up to the wooden path entrance to the restaurant, we were welcomed with the beauty of tiny details of simplicity. The first thing we see on our left when we walked in is the kitchen. On our right is the photobooth in this huge high ceiling room. Damn majestic. yums~~~green tea ice cream and the mango and dry banana crumble taste really really good! It was a great night with delicious food and lovely friends!

My one favourite detail of the entire wedding was that we picked Tamarind NEO for our intimate do because it truly reflected our personalities and that of our friends! It was a restaurant with character and great food. The best part of NEO was that it had a large open area with a long bar, which encouraged everyone to mingle. It was why we picked it as our wedding venue and as the evening went on, we knew without a doubt, that we made the right choice as our friends and family had a great time!

5 Elements of Great Bridal Look

    $
    0
    0
All Makeup and styling is by Jessica's Make Up Zone

    1. The eye makeup that makes you look more awake and refreshed.
Here Jessica uses a semi permanent eye lash extension which is more natural, is customizable and more durable. Most salons will carry extension lengths from 9 to 15mm and you can choose the length that you want. Faux Mink is a popular material used as it's more affordable. Eyelash extensions can last up to 2 weeks to a month. Just be careful not to get water on your lashes and don’t use oily products near your eyes.

    Before and after lash extension

Eye makeup can be applied as usual. Eyeliner is drawn as close as possible to the lash line, then the height is increased accordingly. Accentuate either your upper or lower lash line with a subtle pop of color rather full blown colors on both areas which will look too dense.

Jessica uses Korean Premium mink lash

    2. Match the Dress
Soft curls half up hairdo with pastel flowers for the off shoulder, cape sleeves boho style dress.
More dramatic curls and makeup, glittery tiara for the glamorous dress

    3. Outstanding
You have the all the rights to make a fashion statement on your wedding day. However try not to over-do it. For example a dress with a gorgeous and sexy back detailing presents a unique look. A multi-layer or webbing hair style is definitely a head-turner. You don't have to worry about bolder eye lining as long as other makeup is kept simple.
A dress with a gorgeous and sexy back detailing presents a unique look. A multi-layer or webbing hair style is definitely a head-turner.
You don't have to worry about bolder eye lining as long as other makeup is kept simple.
Outstanding bridal look is the way to go

    4. Accentuate the Features
An experienced MUA would know how to shape and fill the eye brows to accentuate the overall look. Uneven eye brows make a person look tired.

How to shape, fill and accentuate the eye brows

Contouring is when you use powder, cream, or pencil product that's two shades darker than your skin tone to shade areas you'd like to define or reshape, like your nose, forehead, chin, and cheekbones.
Highlighting offsets contouring by accentuating areas of your face with light concealer or highlighter. To properly highlight, use a concealer that's two shades lighter than your skin tone or a highlighter that flatters your complexion to emphasize the areas of your face that naturally catch the light.
    Where to highlight and contour
After the right contouring and highlight, the complexion is more 3D, sharpened and radiant

A properly contoured and highlighted face is gorgeous at all angles.

In addition to the earthy eye shadow, the red shadow can be used. The effect will be different.

    5. Use of Accessories that complement the look and event
Red and golden hair accessories for the Traditional Chinese ceremony. Small hair pins around the crown braid to match the white lace gown.

Flowers in shades of blue for a garden themed wedding. Right: Golden leaf hair piece to complement flower applique.

The Bankers Club is directly opposite Berjaya Times Square. You can have your wedding banquet at the penthouse floors of the Amoda building, which has panaromic views over the KL city. Due the constraints of space, the main hall (ground floor) can only fit up to 15 tables, the remaining tables will be at the mezzanine floor, guests can look down the ground floor from the balcony. Mixed reviews about their wedding coordinator Shangkar. Operations Manager (Peter) & Floor Manager (Alex) are helpful and friendly.

Positive reviews: Food is nice with good portion but don't expect very expensive ingredients. Fast service.  Banker's Club environment is better for a small wedding reception. The ambiance of the club is fantastic, classy and unique yet comfy (air-conditioned). Pretty in picture (Chandelier and piano). Impressive cantilever staircase right in the center of the lounge. Come with basic decor of fresh flowers.

Negative reviews: limited parking, guests can park at Lowyat plaza. Have to isolate guests if more than 15 tables.

My wedding dinner done here (FEB 2015) last year, and half my quests were sweating because air-con is out or something. Asked for refund or compensation, no one cares. Mr. Shangkar only said will update us everytime we called him, and 1 YEAR has passed.
Bankers club really have NO prestige in handling after-sales service...
Even our anniversary dinner (include and compulsory in the wedding package) they didn't provide to us after a year.

Attended a wedding dinner at The Bankers Club (Amoda Building) - I was pretty impressed by their cantilever staircase which was nicely decorated right in the centre of the lounge. Classy and nice ambience. Food wasn't too bad. However, this place is more ideal for small function. I am not sure about the max tables it can cater but anything less than 30 tables shouldn't be a problem.

The place can accommodate up to 30 tables, however, the ground floor only able to accommodate 15-16 tables (depending you wan a smaller or bigger stage), the remaining tables will be at the mezzanine floor, where there got like balcony you can look down the ground floor. I would suggest that if your table more than 25 tables, dun go for bankers club, as the remaining 5 tables will be in like private room in the mezzanine floor, so i feel the ppl sitting the tables inside will feel really isolated. You can take a look at the place. i love the place, thats y i book the place for my wedding venue.

Top 10 Chinese Wedding Songs in Malaysia

Most of the Chinese songs played in weddings are Mandarin and a fair bit of Cantonese in the Klang Valley. A singer who knows how to express the emotions and meaning in the lyrics can capture the audience's attention. For Chinese Songs here are some of my recommendations:
    • Chris from The Raw Note (Jacky Cheung of Malaysia). His voice is solid, in tune and can emote very well.
    • Jim from J-Revolution has a very romantic voice.
    • Eswest Music is specialized in traditional Chinese musical instruments.
    • Cath from Rhumba Live Band has a very melodious, soothing and romantic voice. Jacky can play many musical instruments that adds more dimension to the song.
    • Eugene from LoveStory also sings Chinese songs really well with some R&B flavor.

Chris from The Raw Note's voice is solid, in tune and can emote very well.

Froghill, Kampung Guar Petai, Penang | Malaysia's Jiuzhaigou

Froghill (Bukit Katak) at Kampung Guar Petai outside Butterworth, Penang, is a new photography paradise that is also known as a mini Jiuzhaigou of Malaysia. You don't have to travel all the way to China's remote mountainside now. The pristine blue lakes of varying sizes there were said to be formed by rainwater filling up dozens of holes left behind by earlier quarrying activities.

These man-made lakes are surrounded by red color rocks, making the area a scenic spot that has gained popularity in more recent years. Prepare sunblock, umbrella (hat) if you intend to go in the afternoon, water to keep you hydrated for a long day of photoshoot. Also shoes for hiking as you need to climb some slopes to get a better view. Amazing sunset and sunrise up there. The way in from Jalan Arumugam Pillai does not have a road name, not tarred, is muddy and quite secluded.

Good scenery. View is amazing. Best come with sunblock applied n good hiking shoe, Prepare to wash ur car after that, muddy road, the way is creepy. The former mine that has been turned into a beautiful location for photography. The best sunrise and sunset. The road leading to it is horrible, needs to be improved.

To be safe, never go there alone as the place is very outskirt and doesn't have any residents around. Be prepared to wash your car due to red mud (especially after a raining day). If it's hot, prepare an umbrella as the place doesn't have shades and to avoid heat stroke. Be sure to wear comfortable (climbing shoes) and keep yourself hydrate if you will be there for a long photo shoot. Nice view! In order to view the scenery we must climb some slopes. After climbing some slope, we are able to see some scenery from higher area. a lot of ponds.

    Directions:
From Jalan Arumugam Pillai, look for the signboard of Kampung Guar Petai and a car workshop named Pusat Service Kereta SNR Fiterah Jaya and turn into the small road next to it.
You will then pass by a brick factory, keep right and head on straight until the end on muddy untarred road.

After 15 years of serving up "SO Lip Smacking food and Thirst Quenching drinks" at their original outlet in Sri Hartamas, SOULed OUT opened a second outlet in the upmarket Jalan Ampang district of KL.

The menu consists of Western, Asian, Northern Indian fares and a good selection of pizzas, light bites and desserts to choose from. There is hardly any reviews about weddings at this restaurants, however some blogs and reviews did mention about the delicious Sake San (Pizza with Salmon slivers, roe, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, Japanese mayo, lollo rosso and a hint of wasabi), Sizzling Lamb Cutlet (Northern Indian menu), Sang Har Mein (Wantan noodles with large fresh water prawns, deep fried and doused with egg gravy) from the Asian menu, popular drinks like the Lychee martini and Mojito.

The outdoor terrace (al-fresco) extends at the restaurant front and is protected overhead by large awnings. A large white wall screen at the end of the terrace which is usually used for projection of sports events at night can be the stage area and the projection of the wedding videos.

With an inviting atmosphere, this is a unique wedding venue that serves great comfort food for guests from different cultural backgrounds. Parking will be convenient at the basement of Menara HSC. Guests can get parking fee discounted by Souled Out Ampang.

The full height glass facade is dominated by two towering pillars that stand either side of the glass doorway entrance to the interior. Constructed from a multitude of individual rectangular cuts of timber, pieced together by hand onto the pillars in random pattern, the texture and appearance evokes the towering native tree trunks of a tropical rainforest.

Last thursday we came again..but this time i came with a plan..which is to propose as well as celebrating birthday..couldnt agree more how your staffs have been so helpful in organising, decorating and the creativity in pulling out such an idea.. We got ourselves candle dinner...pretty cutlery..napkins..some mini deco..with the balloons as well as few free printed photos!! Everythg on house...but what surprised me was how souled out helped me to.put all the rose petals on the table, floors and all the way to the staircase...which i was taken aback on the efforts and sincerity by your fellow staffs...More than 5 staffs involved...with two staffs helped out with video recording and phone recording..what else i can say....the foods just great!!! No doubt...thank you for making our day so lovely and memorable...Special shoutout to Regi, Melody, Camille and others who have been helping me out!

When I said SOULed Out’s has something for everyone, I really meant it whether it’s Western, Asian, Indian, vegetarian or even local hawker fare.
I have always wondered about the Sake San @ RM27 and I finally got the chance to try it. It’s basically a thin crust pizza topped with salmon slivers, salmon roe that rests on a bed of red leaf lettuce. A lot goes on in every bite, you get the crunchiness from the pizza crust, fresh cripsness from the lettuce, silky smooth texture of salmon and juicy burst of flavor from the roe. SOULed Out also offers a wide range of Mojitos which lets you choose from Lychee, Apple, Passionfruit and even Asam Boi – each with its distinct taste profile and presentation.

We are seeing more creative bridal hair designs these days. The sky is the limit when it comes to hair innovation. Inspiration comes from anything like a weaved mat, flower bouquet, cartoon characters, movie actress and celebrities, a tribe.

    3. Mohawk (Mohican) Braid
Voluminous braids are created by Penny on the top section of the head across the crown creating a nice texture on the forehead. Add a bird cage hair piece for a vintage look.

    4. Hair Style That Looks Like a Cascading Flower Bouquet
This hair design is perfect for a garden wedding where your curls are put into place with visible tendrils in the shape of a cascading flower bouquet.

    5. Frozen Elsa's side swept long braid

The back webbing is a nice touch complementing the Elsa hairstyle

Instead of using a hair accessory why not create a big rose out of the hair at the nape to make a fashion statement.

This award winning Balinese Themed Restaurant has the tranquility and ambiance best for a romantic garden wedding. The couple's grand entrance will be accompanied by attendants in traditional Balinese attire. You can choose the venue of the gorgeous outdoor garden setting or the indoor which is air conditioned and can be decorated according to the theme of the day. The food they serve is superb. The concerns as pointed out by a guest to the wedding reception held there were the not so well-trained staffs and the sub-standard food presentation.

Bora Ombak moved to a new location in Putrajaya in Nov 2016 which offers a larger wedding hall and standalone restaurant with a beautiful lakeview, right beside Pullman Putrajaya & Marina Putrajaya.

My wedding was a successful event. Alhamdulillah. But not because of Bora. It was a success because of hard work of my family and my friends. On top of additional expenses we threw in.
Everyone has a dream wedding with their own budget. I have shortlisted few venues. Last year I came to Bora. And Taz from Bora promised me a lot of things for 'a new package' coming up in April. I just need to make a booking before someone else take the date. Without any hesitation we proceed to book. Since Taz promised us a good deal with additional stuffs compared to existing package.
After days and months until the day of my wedding, those promises turn to be just empty words. Cooperation from Bora is like to none!
The cake I asked for turn out to be something else. Sad!
The additional stuff he promised free kambing golek none (they gave discount to RM900 at the end).
    Free honeymoon deal - none.
Centerpiece - I need to make my own as they only provide 15pcs
The lights in registration booth was not lit up (excuse from them was we didn't inform we want to use it- like duh it is seated wedding and its in the package!)

Coming back to Ombak after a few years my expectation especially for a wedding luncheon did not meet the my expectation. Arriving there at exactly the invitation time of 12 noon, I saw the Service staff was on a hurry to get the food ready and the guest arrival was ushered by the organiser to a air con room to wait. It was ready about 15 minutes
later, I tasted the food and find it that it was better the last time, Service too maybe the function was in the day time. Night function could be better because of the Balinese decor and atmosphere. I tried the Cendol it was made mixed ready from the kitchen. Parking space if invited come a bit early especially if you are bringing aged family members, drop them in front and start finding parking. Because the place is beside a sport stadium . I am sure at Night the atmosphere will be better, like my previous visits.

i attend a funtion in bora ombak like 2 weeks ago, a wedding funtion at night time, the staff is not well educated n well train, the food prezantation is not up to a standard for a place that clasified as 5 star restaurant to some people, the food is cool, the rendang doesnt look like rendang but more like a messy serunding where by you cant see a cube of beef like normal rendang, there is no desert accept for fruit, not coffe n tea, accept teh tarik in plastic container... after heard tht my frenz spend like rm 55 plus2, is really expensive with the service tht they provided, u can hv a better place n a better quality somewhere else..

first impression is.. "woahhh, Bamboo". lol... it's best scenery for hangging out. i went to this place for my best friend wedding, it suppose to held outdoor, but poor weather condition makes the whole plan became indoor wedding, but it still fantastic, they organize the whole wedding became a good capture memories. thumbs up for bora ombak.

Tips for Wedding Photobooth/ Stage Backdrop Wordings

    $
    0
    0
Whether it is a fabric (curtains), fairy lights, cardboard, poster, artificial grass, brick wall or nature base backdrop, there are different tricks and ideas to make the wordings stand out. One also must take into account the source of lighting such as ballroom lights which will be dimmed and brightened, inconsistent natural sun beam, spot lights, ambient or decorative lighting. Fonts and wordings by H&W Studio.

    1. Get the names and logo die-cut if possible for fairy lights backdrop
These days, couples are keen to put their names and logo as part of the wedding decoration on top of the fairy lights. However, when the lighting of the event hall is dimmed, the words are likely to be out shadowed if they are not presented in die-cut format.

    2. Use cursive/ joint wording for fabric base
Fabric material is always preferred and used in the backdrop or photo booth decoration, with certain degree of folding on it. Unless the separated letters are attached on a supporting material at the back, it is always recommended to use cursive word instead as the letters are joint. When the decoration items are installed on the fabric separately, they can appear uneven due to the folding of the fabric.

    3. Make use of 3D and emboss element
The emboss element has become a trend in the backdrop decoration.
The 3D wordings and flowers enliven the entire setup.Venue: V E Hotel & Residence, Bangsar South, KL | Concept by: Time Lock Decor & Event | Wordings by: H&W
Embossed fonts on a wedding poster, banner. Venue: Tropicana Golf Resort

    4. Design your own wedding logo first using the initials for example, then engage H&W Studio to create the 3D Wording
    Cardboard base

    Fabric base

    5. Contrasting colors for higher readability - for the backdrop with uneven tones and textures
Yellow words on green tree leaves make it easier to read
Red fonts on a white base with the backdrop of nature
Ivory White wordings on red-brick-wall with the natural sun beam. Simple & Sweet backdrop at Glasshouse Seputeh.

    6. Match the base and wedding theme
One of the benefits of using foam cut logo is you could design according to your decoration needs.
The embossed red glittering logo elegantly blends in with the soft pink tone of the base. Venue: Bukit Jalil Golf Club, KL
    Purple theme
    Silver and grey

    7. Big scale couple's initials with LED light bulbs in foam material, which is more cost efficient.
