| Oct 2016: My new husband and I along with 38 guests stayed at The Andaman for a 7 days in Sept for our wedding. This was an 18 months long process of planning with constant communication back and forth between my father and I with the wedding coordinator Jethro and the old coordinator Phyllis. We chose The Andaman for the wedding for the location, scenery and the fact its so isolated. Also we were finally sold with the wedding brochure; where they promise to be in contact every step of the way and even skype call and also Phyllis's attention to detail. However that isn't what we got in the planning stages. We got the bare minimum communication during this stage. Halfway through we were advised that unless we hired someone separate from the resort to handle all the legal side, our wedding wouldn't be legal. This was only communicated to ourselves when we asked the question, it was not stated in their brochure or advised at point of the "letter of agreement". We also noted that certain information was only provided to us when we kept coming back asking questions. Two days before the wedding we requested a final sit down with the coordinator to go over any missing details, this was when we were advised we had no photography or band for the wedding as we never ticked a box saying we wanted it. Magically they managed to organised the photography but no band (good thing i spent hours creating a playlist in-case). I believe all our issues with the planning of the wedding has resulted in language and culture barrier but definitely needs to be addressed as they might not come across a laid back couple/father in the future... i.e bride zillas. The night before the wedding for our Cocktail Pa.rty and the whole wedding day was magical with nothing going wrong (that we are aware of lol). To the venues, staff, the salon staff Jojo & Omi, food and Jethro and his team was 100% amazing. | |||||

Apr 2018: Why did I end up using My Dream Wedding. For me, the main factor was their gown selection, and the package prices were quite reasonable (at the start). There are different tiers where they would separate gowns for your actual wedding day and for pre-wedding shoots. You would most likely end up paying extra for upgrades of the latest suits and gowns anyway. This is how they make all the extra bucks. I’ve actually had all three gowns upgraded for my wedding day and one for the pre-wedding shoot.
Besides the annoying seamstress who pissed me off twice because she was so reluctant to listen to simple alteration instructions for my gowns fitting, I really appreciate the service by two very helpful ladies, name Kelly (who helped me with the fitting) and Mun (who helped with photos and offered photo re-take after seeing how upset I got). I guess it takes a lot of patience to be in this business especially having to deal with brides that can be so precise and demanding. Both of them are based in Damansara Perdana branch. My Dream Wedding also has branches in Cheras, Penang, and Johor.

| Jan 2015: Custom made gowns normally take 2-3 months to be completed. I can safely say that you can be rest assured she is someone who is absolutely dependable, responsible and excellent in all she does, and will do all she can to fulfil her clients' requests and meet their needs. Shawn and I exchanged photos we found on the Internet to explore different designs that might suit my preferences, and slowly narrowed down our options and came to a final decision! Shawn then got it right away, asked me to do send her my body measurements while she came up with a drawing of my dress a few mins after. For my evening gown, it cost RM800 as according to Shawn, it is considered pretty straightforward and not so many intricate details involved. For gowns that require more detailed hand work, it would be RM1,000 and up. For lace wedding gowns, it would cost average from RM1,800-4,000 depending on material and design. I know places that charge double to triple the price compared to this with the same quality, so I think it's really worth getting your dresses done at Yes I Do instead. |

4. That White Dress
Gwen and her team are very helpful in assisting their brides look for the best style that suit them. Their dresses are specially designed and hand made by a team of talented designers, who have had years of experience in tailor making wedding dresses. Every bead, crystal, lace is carefully selected and hand-sewn onto fabrics sourced from Europe. According to the reviews, they will alter or moderately redesign part of the off-the-rack dress to fit the bride, but if you wish to have the one and only dress with special requirements, then go for the custom-made. Bridal gown rental starts from RM450 each. They offer package for rental of more than 2 gowns and above.

Most guests mentioned the design of the ballroom/ banquet hall of Hee Lai Ton Section 13 PJ is the best compared to other branches. Food is above average with great presentation as well, comparable to 5-star hotels. But the building design requires some improvements. For example entrances to underground parking are narrow, and parking space is too narrow too, so do be careful. The LED panel backdrop display is really stunning and perfect for wedding.

But be careful the parking is very tight so big cars be warned. Also after 10pm there's only one lift that goes to the car park so finding your car can be confusing. Backdrop is a beautiful LED panel with stunning displays, so if you're booking this place, be sure to make full use of it. As a guest, very easy to find the place no problem. Jul 2018: Yesterday attended a wedding dinner there, except the 1st dish, the rest were a disappointment. All the foods are overly salty and lack of richness in flavour. Sekeping Serendah, Rawang
This is a glamping (glam camping) retreat and pre-wedding photography location situated 20 minutes from Rawang. It brings you back to nature, amidst the rainforest, in a venue built for people who love its rustic feel. The sheds and warehouses are pretty basic, with glass, timber, concrete, brick or no walls, trees protruding from the floor, very industrial feel, and 100% rustic. You don't come here for privacy as most of the sheds are pretty transparent and open, however they may need to improve on security as suggested by a customer.
From Kuala Lumpur, take the North-South Highway (NKVE) north and exit Rawang. After the Rawang toll gate, turn right and head north via old trunk road. Pass busy Rawang town and head toward Serendah (10km). Turn right at 1st set of traffic lights after Serendah Police station. From there, refer to this local map below to find your way to the retreat.

| Oct 2017: Sekeping Serendah - an eco retreat east of Serendah town and a 20 minutes' drive from Rawang. For me, it was an unforgettable first time experience - glamour camping in a tropical rainforest, albeit secondary forest. I had the great pleasure to attend a friend's wedding held at Sekeping Serendah and thoroughly enjoyed a night's stay in the Timber Shed. My first time there, I went armed with insect repellent. To be 'extra prepared' for your trip, I would suggest reading up on basic tropical rainforest/outdoor survival skills. Close to waterfalls and Perigi Tujuh / Telaga Tujuh Serendah (Seven Wells), there are Orang Asli villages within walking distance of the retreat. This is a place to enjoy nature and the outdoors - recommended for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. No WiFi, no mobile network coverage, no TV and no traffic congestion - a wonderful place to escape from the city and civilization. Here, I got to enjoy sounds of the forest and view the night sky without light pollution. There are 2 swimming pools in the retreat. The sheds/houses have electric lights, ceiling fans, mosquito nets, beds with pillows and sheets. Personally, this was a 'back to nature' trip. At the end of my stay, I learned to appreciate the world and respect nature a bit more - a time to pause and reflect on the importance of forests and their ecosystems. | |||||

The Wedding Heritage Bungalow, Kota Damansara
Package 2018: RM29.50 per pax | Capacity: 2000 pax | The Wedding Heritage (TWH) Kota Damansara has been described as bungalow set up for a memorable wedding. Located in a gated housing area, parking is rather difficult. The wedding packages are superb in terms of the number of items included and the really attractive price. Many commented that it is pretty small, but to me being able to accommodate 2000 pax is not small at all.
Malay weddings are usually conducted in a way that food is served a longer time stretch, the guests can come at different time, congratulate the pengantin, help themselves with the buffet, and leave. Free seating. This way, the venue is able to cater more guests and is more flexible.

Went into the house area from the back gate - not the front gate (the taman’s guard wouldn’t let us in - eventhough im the bride’s sister, and asked us to park on the side of the road). Food - OK. Had Spiced Nasi Beriani with Ayam Masak Merah, Daging Masak Hitam (a bit spicy but meats were tender), papedom (quite oily), dalca sayur, acar buah, air bandung soda (didnt taste the soda - taste like normal air bandung) and fruits (slices of watermelons & oranges). Venue/Bungalow - OK. Inside has airconds and outside has industrial stand fans. The eating area is outside, under canopies. The living room is quite small (there is a pelamin and we also had akad nikah in it). But PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT YOUR RUSTY TAP WATER! The water colour is brownish! Nice place to held a wedding, mine accommodate around 1200 guess. A bungalow set up for a memorable wedding. Not spacious enough for large crowd. Nice wedding venue, super friendly staff.
