Restoran Pekin Johor Jaya

Restoran Pekin Johor Jaya has quite a good reputation for its fine banquet food in generous portions. It is one of the finest Chinese restaurant in Johor Bahru. There is ample parking, except for when there is a wedding. The environment is classy with simple yet elegant furnishing. The decor and layout of the restaurant are well thought out to make the guests feel comfortable. Customers don't mind paying the price for the fine dining experience. The food is delicious but the service during weddings can be better. The waitstaff were too efficient in clearing the plates while guests were still eating. 

Located at Jalan Masai Baru, the area is rather quiet but it all changes when you set foot in the nicely decorated restaurant where attendants greet you warmly. There is a banquet hall for 130 tables that comes with a stage and lights. Finger food is served at the waiting area before the reception.

The food was served too fast at the wedding. The taste of the banquet food was inconsistent with the food that we tested. There was ample time for them to organize the wedding banquet. Do not understand why they are more chaotic than the bride and groom.

Attend for a wedding dinner. The place is huge to cater for multiple weddings event. Food is delicious but service can be better. The waiters too responsive to the extend wanted to clear the plate while we are still eating.

Fitting for a Wedding Lunch. We were here for a wedding lunch. The food is delicious. However, the steam fish was not as hot as desired as it was not kept warm, as usually such dish is heated with a waxed flame.

The 37-year-old and his wife, teacher Rebecca Goh, 34, estimate that they saved at least $20,000 by holding their banquet at the Pekin Restoran Johor Jaya restaurant in Johor Baru instead of a hotel in Singapore. Excluding the bus charters, the Tans spent about RM55,000 to host their 300 guests, including an eight-course menu comprising dishes such as abalone, fish maw soup and roast pork, as well as alcohol. Adds Mr Tan: "The food was great, as was the service. They let us use a banquet hall which came with a stage and lights, there was finger food at the waiting area and ample parking space for our guests. We were happy with the choice."

Pekin Restaurant in JJ is one of the finest Chinese restaurant in JB.
It is not some low class restaurants.
Pekin Restuarant, I been there twice. Both times, we cannot finish the food.
Cod fish piece bigger than my Laptop Power Brick, per person, 30 Fresh Prawns a table etc.

The Tropical Garden Restaurant Kulai is located 2 minutes from Kulai Toll and 15 minutes from Senai International Airport. The banquet hall can accommodate 200 seats, with 600 parking bays, a wide stage, beautiful stage lighting effects. There is another branch in Senai.

Usually walk-in patrons are served on the ground floor, the first floor is reserved for wedding receptions. The service of Tropical Garden Kulai is very good and the food is very delicious! Nice environment, food served in big portion and good service, particularly Ms Fang who was very helpful and attentive in helping the couple organize their wedding banquet.

However they do have to pay more attention to greasy floors, to not cause any untoward incidents.

Good food and good service. However, the wedding hall's floor is quite greasy and can be slippery. Upstairs air-cond is not very cold.

The service of Tropical Garden Kulai is very good and the food is very delicious! We have no regrets holding our wedding reception here! Friends and family are very satisfied with the environment, services and food here! Especially the lady who served us, Ms Fang! Very helpful and attentive in helping us organize the best wedding banquet that night! Everyone was happy!

      Indian bridal wear is all about good quality fabrics and fine craftsmanship. Many Malaysian brides source their traditional bridal gowns all the way from India. Now they are lucky to have Shimmerz Styles in Bangsar because this boutique offers a collection of classy designer ensembles as well as other formal, ethnic or casual attire made from high quality material.

      There are many Lehengas, sarees, Pubjabi suits, fabrics for Baju Kurungs and kaftans (long loose dresses), indo-western tunics, and costume jewelries. Many brides these days prefer lehengas as they’re easier to put on than sarees and are more modern looking, especially the improvised designs. Their bridal gowns are highlighted with lavish use of antique gold, gotapatti, dabka, and zari combining fusion cuts and traditional embroidery.

      Lehengas are long, heavily adorned skirts and tops with a chuni (scarf) that can be draped in different ways.
      Saree consists of a long drape, wrapped around the waist and over the shoulder, baring midriff.  
      Anarkali style - A long shirt that flows out, usually worn with a churidar underneath. A churidar is tighter than a salwar, and bunches at the ankles.
      Salwar Kameez consists of Salwar which is the loose pants, and Kameez the shirt.

      Bridal lengha (Lehenga) - lower part is the Lehenga and the upper part is the choli with gota patti embroidery.

      I was there last night for a wedding dinner. What spoilt it for me was towards the end when the the waiter was clearing the table to serve dessert, he accidentally spilt soy sauce from the sauce dish on to my shirt. He was very apologetic about it. I told him to call his supervisor and a girl came over and apologised again. I told her I would like to speak to the manager and awhile later a Malay guy came over to apologise. But what I didn't like is that he used a four letter word about the staff.

            1. Pantai Cahaya Negeri is a beachside destination between 5th and 6th mile of Port Dickson, served by resorts, hotels and apartments perched along its coastal strip.             There are many stops along Port Dickson beach. However I chose Pantai Cahaya Negeri because I felt it is cleaner and less crowd. Furthermore, there’s ample of parking lots here. I also like that there’s a public toilet & bathroom here. It will be convenient for beach goers to wash up. There’s a fee of RM0.50 (for usage of toilet), RM1 (for usage of bathroom). I wouldn’t say its very clean, but still acceptable.

            Port Dickson local office is really trying to beautify Port Dickson. Pantai Cahaya Negeri is one such place. There is a shady picnic area for families. The local Majlis even build little Gazebos with tables. They have cleaned up the beach. Now it looks like we are somewhere else.

                Bora Ombak Marina Wedding @ Putrajaya

                The BoraOmbak Marina Putrajaya is situated at the marina offering a relaxing view of the lake and its surrounding. The floor to ceiling glass windows of the decent sized ballroom gives way to natural light which can brighten up the wedding celebration held during the day. It is a lovely carpeted hall with modern decorations, classic white wall panels, tall window artwork, ambient and stage lights. Night events are mystical, cozy and a bit dark some say. The French Chic Minimalist concept ballroom with designer crystal chandeliers keeps your wedding decorations effort to the bare minimum. It is located about 40km with easy access from KL. There is plenty of parking space as well.

                Wedding guests love this venue and the great food. However the hosts were not too happy with the event coordinators, frustrated over the nonchalant attitude. It may not turn out the way you expect, the wedding will be beautiful nonetheless. 

                Bora Ombak moved to a new location in Putrajaya from Ampang in Nov 2016 which offers a larger wedding hall and standalone restaurant with a beautiful lakeview, right beside Pullman Putrajaya & Marina Putrajaya.

                The Grand Ballroom premise is constructed at a private location, most suitable for weddings, non-sharing and exclusive.

                1. Had informed the management that we will need the place for rehearsal, not only the technical came late by 2 hours then he left early due to some urgency. The place was not even cleaned up from last event when we arrived.
                2. They refuse to adhere to our requests despite the fact that we are the paying customers especially when we have spent over RM30k on them. Provided us with dirty tablecloths saying that they had changed it.
                3. Their food is also terrible, dish such as roast beef is hard enough to choke a person and to top it all off, they served chicken in a vegetarian dish to my guests who are VEGETARIANS.
                4. During event, the waiters just came to refill the beverages at the start and that was the end of it. Was thirsty the whole time.
                5. They are not customer friendly at all. Just because we booked the place till the appointed time, the management chase us away like we are not one of the paying customers. Not only that, they threw away our door gifts simply on the excuse of we left it on the table after the event ends. In order for us to retrieve it, they ask us to dig in the trash ourselves.
                I advise those who are interested booking this place, DON'T. You will regret it. Such a waste of good money and time on them.

                The reception was held at a new restaurant at Marina Putrajaya called Bora Ombak. It was a decent-sized hall, catered for wedding right at the marina offering a great vista of the beautiful surrounding. Being Putrajaya, access from KL was straight-forward and the venue offered ample parking. The food was great and we got ourselves a great spot at one corner of the hall. A great day out actually and the unique venue offered a new perspective. It was a hall best used for daytime event as the natural light coming through the large glass windows really spurred up the place.
                The marina was located right next to Pullman Putrajaya, and Syahril and his family actually spent the evening there. Not a bad place to hold a reception actually .....

                    Just want to comment on a recent dinner function at a spacious venue there. The food is divided between a buffet for the general group and VIP tables served on a round shuttle. Disappointingly, food at the buffet is refilked but the VIP tables were ignored, until very late. If this is a teaching hotel, I think that the teaching wasn't effective.

Newly established in 2015, This outlet offers an elegant and glamorous ballroom for your wedding reception. The pork-free restaurant prides itself in using the freshest ingredients for food preparation.

                    The TG Grand Ballroom is well equipped with large LED display screen, great sound system, architectural, dancing lights providing cutting edge luminaries. Spanning 13,670 sqft to accommodate up to 1,200 guests for banquet seating, the ballroom can be partitioned into 2 rooms to cater for smaller functions. The nicely decorated ballroom has flower print carpet, and stunning floral concave ceiling that can improve the acoustics.

                    Parking Charge is RM2 per entry on Weekends. Hao Xiang Chi Seafood Catering has another branch in Klang and the HQ in Sekinchan. They do food catering for wedding banquets. While the ballrooms are in Setia Alam, Pudu (KL), Seremban, Lukut and Klang

                    Little did I know that Melaka has one of the grandest wedding halls in Malaysia. Established in May 2016, Lucky Palace Restaurant (Melaka)'s banquet ballroom, particularly Hall 3 is extremely well designed (at least on photos!) with 3D cylinder-shaped dangling chandeliers, striking shades of red carpet, one-of-its-kind in Malaysia. The Ballroom Hall 1, 2 and 3 are uniquely designed for your banqueting needs.

                    Located in Ayer Keroh about 10km from Melaka city center, this Chinese restaurant is quietly tucked in a housing area away from traffic congestion. There is parking space onsite but is insufficient for busy periods during events or weddings. A corridor of full height glass windows offer guests a scenic view and a fantastic welcome point for guests to take photos, enjoy some small treats and drinks before the event starts. It also provides a rooftop function venue for celebrations of around 150 guests.

                    In the beginning there were some problems with communication and management arrangements. But after understanding the situation, the person in charge Andy is really awesome. Fulfilled all the needs and requirements. Thank you Andy for organizing my unforgettable wedding banquet.
                    Restaurant Design is really beautiful and it's new, I believe that young couples will like but the first floor elevator and the entrance are too crowded and need to be improved. No comments on food, it's not bad, but everyone's taste bud is different. So there are people who think it's delicious and some not. All others are good generally.
