Me and my FH (Wedding Acronym) paid a visit to the resort only to come upon a not so attractive wedding venue. I don't think I will have my wedding there, me being ambiance-conscious. It was late in the afternoon, tired and hungry we decided to lunch at Oriental Pearl Chinese Restaurant there. The food is pleasantly delicious. They serve pork-free food.
You can either hold your wedding in the available ballrooms having food from the Chinese Restaurant or the resort.
More than 45 tables is required to book the Perdana ballroom which I think looks quite pretty with high ceiling and grand chandeliers. Comparatively, Tropicana Golf Resort's ballroom is newer looking and more modern. The other function rooms according to comments from BTBs need additional decoration. The resort is a wonderful green piece of land. The newly-built covered parking building behind the hall is quite cozy. Car park is abit far to walk if you are not early. the ballroom is good enough for 50 over tables, the service was a bit slow but they get to you eventually. Their washroom outside was a bit smelly. The food is quite good. Decorations are quite old, Langkawi room looks old. The location is easy to find. it is nothing like a 5 star hotel but it is the typical chinese restaurant style. The halls upstairs have no pillars but the ground floor resturant has 4 huge pillars.
Wedding ceremony can be held on their well-maintained lawns, or dinner and dancing in the elegant ballrooms!

Sep 2012 I do not want to burn a hole on everyone's pocket by having some luxurious wedding in hotel. I have been there twice for wedding personally and the food is quite good, service is so-so (typical chinese restaurant type), no pillars in hall, lots of parking and decorations are quite old. Oct 2012 the staff call 'Ah Weng' explained and show us hall and the environment around the restaurant.He is a patient, helpful and well explained all the information we ask.For the restaurant and the hall(Langkawi room,due to only 10 tables we planning to invite) our reserved looks old and not renovated,it needs to hire decorator to make it nicer on the AD,but the hall size is what we want .The price of the food reasonable,but dont know about the taste and portion as we never dine in there.Parking area well enought for our guess and is FOC! Overall is good but need improve thier deco and the dining setting(they use serviette instead of napkin to set up the table,what i dont like yet not elegance!) |
