Wedding Reception at Renaissance Hotel KL

If you are looking for a grand multi-purpose location with great ambiance to conduct your wedding ceremony as well as the reception, you may have landed on your perfect site at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur. Depending on the number of guests the Grand Ballroom is available with a minimum of 60 tables, while Ballroom A or B with a minimum 30 tables. The hotel provides good sound and lighting system. The ballroom of the hotel is big, spacious, decorative, pillar-less great for 360 view wherever you are seated.

Many of Malaysian couples today under the influence of western culture, organize their weddings the simplistic way. They reduce the effort of traveling all the way to the bride's hometown to fetch her. If she lived in the other end of the country, precious time could be wasted on just driving alone. Instead, the hotel allows you to have the traditional ceremonies, garden wedding, solemnization, and the reception all on the same day. You can even stay over night at the hotel to make the morning getting-ready session more convenient.

I attended my long time best buddy's wedding at this venue. I thought the ballroom was indeed very nice. Two words appeared in my head; comfort and style. We had a cocktail party before the dinner and the bride wore a white color cheongsam tailor made by her designer sister.

Indian weddings customarily involve big celebration and dance. You would need a stage and environment considerably huge to hold the party. Renaissance is preferred thanks to its high ceiling and elegant ballroom. The space is sufficient to create a dance floor right in front. The performers can either entertain the guests on the dining area in closer proximity to the audience or they can carry out their act up on stage. You will have your first dance under the romantic dimmed lights in an intimate moment witnessed by your friends and family.

The ballroom of the hotel is big, spacious, decorative. If you wish to arrange any celebration party you may go for it including food with a very reasonable price compared to other hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

The Ballroom is spartan and pillarless...perfect for a 360° view wherever one is seated.
The Bollywood theme supported characteristic drums and Gorgeous melodies was laid bare by the lacklustre soundsystem.
Even the waiters were found wanting as most could not understand English...only a smattering of local staff were attentive and really made the function pleasant.
The food served on a central revolvable platter was cold and well quite forgettable.
The enjoyable bits were the assemblage of family and friends.

"It was our first time to shoot at Renaissance Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. The entire event from the preps, the ceremony until the reception were done in the same hotel. We really loved the place especially the grand staircase. This is completely western style wedding as there is nothing about the gaming and gate crashing session."

The grand ballroom where we attended a wedding was beautiful and the setting is great for wedding dinners. The staff were excellent and ready to assist any time.

The food is really good. Worth the price you pay for as they provide good ingredients, scallops are big. Reasonably priced Wedding banquet. Dishes served during wedding banquet were hot & warm, fresh & tasty. The banquet hall setting is pretty nice like Hotel with chandelier. Service was good too.

Reasonable priced Wedding banquet. Dishes served during wedding banquet were hot & warm, fresh & tasty.

I personally picked Palace Group because the menu were one of the most 'worth' because by paying such amount.  Many would think that the place is small but to me, what's most important is the place is decent and not too cramp but yet cozy.

Had a friends wedding. Restaurant was fully booked with 2 weddings running concurrently. Surprisingly food was actually really good considering how busy the whole restaurant was. So was the service.

The 9-course dinner at Jaya Palace was quite impressive. I loved the large dried scallop inside. You don’t usually get ones as big as this from retail shops unless you’re willing to pay a hefty price tag. There were also two pieces of fish maw inside, a classic Cantonese double boiled soup with premium non-controversial ingredients.

I attended a wedding there. Place seemed a bit cramped to me. Reason I say the place seemed a bit cramped was because the bride & groom had to almost squeeze between the round tables during the 2nd march-in. I don't remember how many tables they had, though. Foyer is not very friendly looking, though, so don't think you can have pre-dinner cocktails with a nice ambience, if you were planning for that sort of thing.
I quite enjoyed the food. The sound system is OK for karaoke-singing. The ambience wasn't too bad, lighting OK, easy to see the LCD screen.

Zebra Square, Jalan Kampung Pandan, KL

Zebra Square is just five minutes away from the heart of Kuala Lumpur and located next to the Royal Selangor Golf Club. Their modern architecture fused with the beauty of nature, a garden and a view of the city boasts charming character.
They take care of the food to the decor and everything in between. While they specialise in Italian and French Fusion, they are also able to prepare local food with a partner who specialises in Malay cuisines especially for Malay weddings. Zebra Square has a central kitchen and hence, they do not allow outside caterers. 

As for other vendors, such as sound system, you are not required to use any specific vendor. However, the vendors they recommend have significant prior experience working at Zebra Square, therefore are familiar with all of Zebra Square’s policies and procedures. There are also parking lots at the ground floor, (which is limited according to the comments on their FB page) which is an enclosed space not made accessible to public.

The garden, hall and setting are really beautiful. Food quality is not very consistent according to reviews.

The hall is amazing. I love the cocktail setting before the main event. Drinks are awesome and many many types of canapes were served. Indeed there are some food taste funny but totally was not so bad. The garden is beautiful. Staffs are pleasant. Yea, planning to do my wedding there.

The business owner is Lin Lin, a warm, friendly and very understanding lady. Not only she understands what I want and needed. she also gives me some freebies like printing of my customized bridal shower Thank You tags for FREE! Wow! Belief me, all her cards and design are so lovely, I was like a young little girl in a candy store! Don’t know what to choose! Wish I could have them all.
In the end, I chose a western design with dark beige background. It’s like a three fold booklet that comes with my wedding logo on the front of the booklet, a lovely white bow ribbon, and I can choose as many photos as I wanted to be printed on it! So lovely! It comes with a customized envelope too with my wedding logo but hot stamping with gold ink and our initials “J Love Y”. 100% satisfied!
I would definitely recommend Paperose to everyone who is getting married.

The most memorable day - The day I became Mrs Sia ceremonially. "I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honour you all the days of my life." Also on this day Malaysians gathered to make their voices heard calling for clean and fair elections in Bersih 428 2012. Stayed 1 night for an event at Berjaya Times Square mall. Clean, convenient, and complete amenities in room and at hotel. Connected to the mall. Mild congestion and long wait at lift area due to weekend wedding and misc events, as lifts to ballrooms are shared with hotel guests.

The spectacular timber structure of the Visitors Centre can be used as a function hall for any occasions. It can seat 250 people and has an overall capacity of 500 people. The hall is awesome, the extraordinary wood beams and green surrounding create a very unique ambiance for a modern wedding party. Instead of the loud karaoke sessions, hire a reputable wedding live band to entertain your guests, set a romantic mood and play the background music for your memorable first dance.

Enderong House is a three-storey bungalow house which has a large living area extending out into a wide open verandah, and large covered deck area on the ground floor. Extensive use of timber, stone and glass has created a building that is bright, light and airy.

Annexe Hall is a multi-purpose hall with a large verandah situated at the top of Enderong Annexe wing. It comfortably accommodates up to 80 persons for sit-down dining. Annexe Hall is equipped with audio/visual equipment and a large projector screen.

Their wedding was celebrated at Tanarimba, Janda Baik. The first thing that caught my eyes was the massive drape that hung so flawlessly over the ceremony area. It was a morning ceremony which was then proceeded by a lunch reception. The weather and the surroundings were perfect! Their down-to-earth, minimalist decoration definitely shows that less is more. One of the highlights from this wedding was that it culminated in an incredible dance party on a wooden sprung floor. You could see that the guests were enjoying themselves over good food and company.

Here’s a great venue for couples who want to show their passion for the environment. Tanarimba at Janda Baik. The venue is really vast, reasonable rental and the ideas to decorate the place are endless. Tropicana Golf and Country Resort It Is

We decided on Tropicana Golf and Country Resort's Tai Thong (Spring Garden) Chinese Restaurant. This wedding venue is highly recommended by BTBs. A bride commented that all her guests remembered how good the food was instead of how pretty she looked on the wedding reception. The Tropicana Grand Ballroom is overlooking the verdant green of the award-winning Tropicana golf course. We drove past many luxurious big houses to get to the resort.

Stage is big and tall with impressive lighting. There is a projector screen by the side of the ballroom, guests are able to have a better glimpse of the slideshows. There are also several other LCD monitors spread across the hall, one outside the ballroom at the reception area. The ballroom is fantastic. I had been communicating with PIC, Diana (Spring Garden restaurant). She was extremely efficient. If in doubt of my queries, she would check and get back to me on the same day. One thing I would change is the stage backdrop which I think was too childish, looking back. My wedding was in 2012.

There are no corkage charges for alcoholic beverages such as hard liquor and wine, charge for beer is RM100. We wanted to change the shark fin soup to another dish but the manager told us the soup is made of artificial shark fin. Puzzled. It has a pork-free kitchen. If you are interested, be quick. You have to book this venue well ahead as it is a very popular place to hold weddings.

I have attended a wedding dinner at Spring Garden Chinese Restaurant @ Tropicana earlier this year. Venue & deco is nice, but food is so-so. Need to improve on the service as well. The wait staff seems to be in a rush to clear plates!

I visited tropicana tai thong few months ago to attend a wedding dinner and I found the ball room is grand and nice, high ceiling, good ambiance. The food is not bad too and the service is okay. I will recommend this place if you are looking for nice venue.

I dealt with Diana. She is very prompt. If she needs to confirm something, she would check and get back to me (on the same day). She also called me to confirm the little detail, is helpful, and willing to add more complimentary invitation cards when requested. Food and service were good. My aunt commented that the food was the best among my other sisters’ weddings. I have 3 sisters and all of them married. Diana was kind enough to help us conduct our tea ceremony for my husband’s family. I got more than what I paid for.

The resort provides their PA system, any additional sound equipment, instruments brought in will be charged RM350. Rehearsal of the sound system, lighting, running through the schedule and DVDs/ songs to be played on wedding day with the technical personnel from Tropicana Resort, is arranged approximately 1 week before actual date. The use of the ballroom moving heads (intelligent lights) costs RM200. They provide about 20+ baby chairs. You can still finalize the total number of guests two days before AD.

It is the perfect place for fairy tale garden wedding. A-Park in Puchong has a spacious, tranquil private outdoor (will be extremely hot in our weather) area, with a breathtaking lake view, nice landscape and greenery. Plenty of space for your event canopy and parking. You can invite lots of people to your sweet and romantic wedding here. There is a lakehouse, small cottages with English design, a small bridge and a gazebo around the man made lake. You would think that you are at a peaceful cottage in Europe, if not for the heat.

The location is rather remote and complicated to reach, so get your Waze ready. Mosque Dar-Salam on site. Great photography location, hop on the love boat (sampan) and have a romantic ride on the lake.

The wedding place is so beautiful . The place name is A-Park , Puchong. To find the place, just need to search using waze because the route is a bit complicated but waze totally help. :)The A-park suitable for garden wedding theme. The consistent food quality offered by Oriental Pavilion Chinese Restaurant at Jaya 33 is its main attraction. The food has always been very delicious compared to other restaurants. People can't stop talking about the superb dishes they tasted during weddings. It has a large stage and the hall is spacious with a few pillars. The ambiance is the typical modern Chinese Restaurant design, not bad but lacks privacy. It charges 50% for food tasting, but with enough bargaining and tables booking, you may get it free (other benefits as well). Located at Jalan Semangat in PJ, the place is center to the residents in that area, if you are from elsewhere, there may be a problem finding it. You can park at Jaya 33 shopping mall or the Plaza 33 next door. Accommodating staffs and good service are plus points.

There is always a long queue to their Dim sum on Sundays. We were never able to taste it, sigh.

Food served is authentic and unique. Staffs are helpful but service quality has room for improvements. A great place for DimSum(don't expect to be cheap) and for wedding dinner(mine was there too)

Oriental the environment not bad but you need go bargain for free tables or benefit or cocktails before wedding during the wedding fair. food for me, not bad as it had their own specialty but Oriental will charge 50% for food tasting.
I had mine dinner banquet at Oriental Pavilion Jaya33 50 tables. Bargain hard, and eventually Oriental gave us FOC for food tasting.

Wedding in Bungalow Duchess Place at Jalan Ampang

A bungalow with a huge covered canopy extended on to the lawn, Duchess Place is absolutely a beautiful and nice place to have your wedding. It looks luxurious on the inside, with chandeliers and the all white tables/chairs setup, the place is gorgeous and sweet. Decor is not bad and they have gorgeous pelamin as well. This venue is suitable for garden or English themed wedding concept. Food is tasty too. They are flexible and will try to arrange within your budget. The owners have wedding planning experience. 

This venue is rather expensive and they don't allow external decorator. Bear with their slow response to inquiries sometimes. Guests have commented that the location is quite tricky find, it is located next to Menara Perkeso, Jalan Ampang.

Food so-so, very limited parking. For people looking to hold their wedding reception there, beware! They recycle the same decorations and make it appear as though you're actually getting a good deal by throwing it in "for free".
I love this space because it quite privacy and got a lot of potential to become popular event spot just lacking of parking space.

Duchess Place has been on tv for so many times which usually featured a wedding of celebrities. It was a right choice when we choose Duchess Place since they not only provided venue but also catering, dais, main table decoration and cake to make our arrangement easier. With all these beautiful set up, i couldn't ask anymore better than this. We are so satisfied and got nothing to complaint during our big day.

merasa jugak aku masukk ke bungalow yg tampak cam usang diluar.. tapi giler mewah didalamnya.. biler Balqies memilih Dutchess Place yg terletak di Jalan Ampang nie sebagai tempat mengabadikan majlis perkahwinan mereka suami isteri! Sumpahh pada aku gorjess gilerrr Duchess Place nie! Cantekkkkkk sangat2 okk!  Dengan Chandelier nya.. dengan setup kerusi meja nya.. owhh.. memang bestt.. bestttt sangat! Nape lahh waktu aku kawin dulu takde tempat nie?? Nyampah!  But serious food kat sini sedapp!!!  So pada korang2 yg nak kawin.. nak kan satu concept garden or english wedding.. memang Duchess Place lah tempatnye!  Makanan pun not bad.. rasanya Balqies amik all setup with them directly… but serious suasana dia sangatt sweett…. lovely and chillin’! aku sukerrr sangat.. sangattt!!

It was a house with a huge covered canopy extended on the lawn.  The layout of the house was just what I imagined. It had the English/British garden-themed feel to it and I was mesmerised. The tables and the chairs are all in white, nicely placed with a gorgeous pelamin at the back.
I WANT THIS PLACE. I WANT IT!!! “It’s RM55 per guest with a minimum of 600 guests for lunch and RM90 per guest for minimum of 400 guests for dinner. That includes the deco, the pelamin, the food and etc etc.”

I have gotten a few email requests for a research review of Sin Choi Wah restaurant inBandar Menjalara Kepong. It has quite a reputation for its good food in big serving with great price. Be impressed by the restaurant's 3-storey big structure. There are ballrooms and halls of different sizes suitable for private weddings. Also for that reason more than one weddings can be held at the spacious location. Guests could get lost there. Arranging the signage to provide direction would definitely help the guests locate the wedding reception.

Parking will be a problem, so you may be directed to park at Tesco, which is just opposite the restaurant. Brides were mostly very pleased with the quality of food and the banquet hall's ambiance. The restaurant does not put the groom and bride's names up the back of the stage as it is not in the list of services provided, is that true? Alternatively you can display the couples names using a software projection. You may also need to fork out extra cash if you want more personalized decorations and setup. The management allows you to decorate the hall however you wish. Tips from momentspix, try to get the upstairs ballroom for a better environment. However some complained about the service rendered by the PIC, hit and miss.

You can expect good quality sound system, if you plan to have a live band play on your wedding day. I have heard several people saying they have live band quality system.

This is a very popular restaurant to host wedding functions as it is custom built to handle small and large banquets. The restaurant is also tastefully furnished and parking is easily available as it is located next to Tesco (free parking). The food is delicious and the food serving is generous.
You get exactly what you pay for wedding dinner. Very affordable prices for wedding dinner but service is very mediocre. Some hits and misses. Requires a lot of follow up to get things done right. Recommended if you are on a tight budget if you still look for great tasting food.

The ambiance is marvellous. It gives you a very happy and comfortable feeling. I've been there 5 times for mostly private wedding events. I must say they serve extremely good food not to mention their efficient service. Good food comes with great price.

Sin Choi Wah Restaurantis the main for for my family to run family wedding of the all time ever since they are opened, the reason we prefer taking this place is because they have multiple types of hall rooms, we always pick here is also because their food is quite okay. not to say their food is super yummy but reasonable and editable :)
I super in love with their hall because you basically can do everything with the hall and there is no limitation for you do decorate their hall unless don't break anything or switch the main stage to another stage or something will do :) their restaurant are always packed with booking so if you are really looking for a place to run for a wedding dinner you have to book yearly earlier.

The ambience is very sophisticated dining experience. In fact, there were 3 wedding lunches today. The sound system is also quite good here. Some of the dishes taste fantastic. The scallop with celery was so tasty. The steamed sea grouper with soy sauce is just so-so. The flesh is too hard. The winner - the braised mix vegetables. The gravy is very thick and tasty.

I was there for my colleague's wedding. This is a huge place and they have rooms of different sizes suitable for small intimate or big grand weddings. Food is fantastic. The service is pretty standardized what you can get from a Chinese restaurant.

Wedding dinner in Sinchoiwah Restaurant in Menjalara, Kepong. My expectation wasn’t so high as I had eaten here a few times. I only liked the Roast Chicken. The other dishes were average and not memorable. Unfortunately the management have chosen to use plastic/melamine tablewares as opposed to porcelain ones which are more classy. However, the setting of the restaurant is really nice, and it’s quite a new building. Parking is convenient and free, thanks to Tesco located opposite the restaurant.

The whole big building belongs to the restaurant itself? I’m impressed. Normally I don’t get the opportunity to dine as such BIG place. There were several weddings being held at the same time. Everything (from the directions and wedded couples’ name) was in Chinese, but fortunately enough – I recognize the faces on the wedding photo and that led me to their wedding hall. The Steamed Pomfret Fish with Soya Sauce. The fish meat is delicate – mixing it with the sauce creates a luscious taste.

Red Bliss SS2 has been around for a while for a good reason. While other bridal shops (BS) come and go unable to sustain their business, Redbliss continuously better themselves to maintain a strong position in the bridal industry. The SAs are extremely friendly and trained to serve you to the best of their abilities. Great marketers. However there are some comments that the SAs may appear to be trying too hard and they talk too much sometimes. It is a very popular choice amongst the people I know and also friends of friend.

List of bridal shops

The shop is spacious and comfortable to be in. It is a corner lot which has a comparatively larger glass window display of wedding dresses and they are stunning. Usually pre-wedding packages allow you to select all the gowns except the designer range which you have to pay an additional amount depending your choice of gown. It could go up to RM7k. Extra cost will be incurred if you decide to change the PS date or your gown selection.

BTBs specifically point out MUA Beeky as friendly, dedicated and professional. You have to pick the PG carefully though. One of the ways is if you like the photo on display, ask your SA for the PG's name. Inform them about your requirements, what elements you want to be in your pictures. During the photoshoot, if you are uncomfortable with the backdrop or poses, do voice up. Otherwise the result may not be as you would expect. BTBs recommended PG, Wilson. His work has been described as clean, artistic and natural. Others commented the PG was unskillful. RB provides an MTV DVD which is a video that records all the "behind the scene" + photoshoot events. They also specialize in "The Love Story Book" photography style and this differentiates Redbliss from the rest as they are going for natural, fun, real and witty. They photograph your love story as a commemorative memoir.

PG: Leon - Funny guy, I am happy with the indoor/ Redbliss private garden shots. the outdoor (Lake Gardens KL) pictures were below our expectation. Some of the images taken were not properly angled and the background looks too noisy.

Videographer (VG): KT - He patiently recorded our photo-shoot process and compiled a wonderful video (behind the scenes) for us.

MUA: Beeky - At first I thought the makeup was too thick and and it cracked over time. After the images were produced, I realized it did not show at all and the makeup looked good. She is very friendly, takes pride in her work and does it with commitment.

SA: Carmen - Extremely professional young girl. She informed me every single detail and gave recommendations on the dresses to pick. She was accommodating when it comes to the compromise we requested. The reason I chose RB during the Midvalley bridal fair because I thought Carmen was not pushy and I would be happy to have her plan my photoshoot.

Overall: All the deliverables were on time as promised. I did not do much research prior to the wedding expo trip. My intention was to have the bridal shop take care of everything. My hubby was disappointed with the photos and thought the package did not relatively worth the RM3988 we spent. I should have asked done my research better, anyway...

My photo-shoots done at Redbliss. I signed up the packages RM 2388 with 3 gown, 40 photo, 1 big album, 3 x 8R photo, and 1 table photo.
I don't want to spend too high on the pre-wedding photo, hence I ask Redbliss to mix and match my requirement. There are no hidden charges as I am able to choose all the gown (except those gown which is for selling purposes). So far, highly recommended Redbliss

If you pick normal dress range price around 4k and up for the package  but if you want to choose designer range for actual day and studio shoot price can go up to 7k… and most designer gown not allowed for outdoor shoot. Their pictures can also choose special effect or natural ones. You can try the gowns without signing any package. Their dinner gown for designer range is very limited if you looking for modern design then you might want to skip this….From designer range got a few mermaid that can fit me nicely (plusize).

9Kedondong offers an extremely attractive wedding package which includes a home stay at their exclusive bungalow, makeup, photography, bridal attire for both the bride and groom, pelamin, decorations, marquee, food, etc. It is one of a kind and very generous. 

There are many bungalow units around that exclusive area in Ampang where 9Kedondong is located. Inside this white house, there is a big hall, the bridal suite and 2 other bedrooms, a spacious yard for you to set up tents for the wedding feast. The walkway is nice and very clean. The concept of the main event space is simple and nice, mainly white, drapes on the ceiling and surrounding the event marquee. With the table/ chair arrangements and setting, it does look like an English garden wedding. Nonetheless you can discuss with the person in charge regarding your wedding theme and requirements if some customization can be made.

Memang best lah pakej yg ditawarkan 9Kedondong ni utk majlis perkahwinan.. bakal pengantin cuci kaki je majlis resepsi... sepupu saya yang buat majlis kat sini nampak tak stress sebab semua diuruskan oleh 9Kedondong..daripada imam majlis akad nikah, makanan, minuman, mekap pengantin, hiasan pelamin, kek, menu meja pengantin dan paling best bole menginap di banglo yg pernah digunakan sebagai kedutaan negara luar tu... kami sebagai tetamu pon enjoy sbb lepas makan bole rileks2 dlm rumah banglo yg berhawa dingin...anak2 pon tak stress smp meragam...

Situ semua bungalow lot, so nampak dia punya exclusive. I pon sempat la tinjau sekeliling rumah. Ada bilik, toilet, a big hall, laman luas and khemah yang dekat belakang tu pon cantik. Walkway cantik, bersih sangat. I jatuh cinta! Memang complete package siap SEMUA. Bukan makan je tapi semua la termasuk rumah, pelamin, hiasan, fotografi, Penyelaras Majlis, RELA, selawat, kompang, DJ, karaoke dan macam-macam lagi. Make up dah la lawa-lawa, pelamin pun alahaaaai meleleh air liur I tengok. Memang senang kerja kalau buat dekat sini. Bayar je ikut package mana nak, ada orang yang akan setelkan, lepas habis majlis tak payah dah fikir nak kemas rumah ke apa. 9 Kedondong pandangan dari depan. Cantik, bersih dan luas! Untuk satu rumah boleh letak khemah depan and belakang and muat up to 1,000 pax.
